In Loving Memory of Gerald "Jerry" Grant Rundall

Gerald "Jerry" Grant Rundall, age 65, peacefully departed this life on April 18, 2024, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. As per Jerry's wishes, cremation has been performed, and his life will be celebrated from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Sally’s on Broadway.

Jerry was born on October 30, 1958, in Morrison, Illinois, to Ernest and Dolly (Birely) Rundall. On May 5, 1978, he married Susan Blair, and together they raised three wonderful sons. More recently, Jerry found companionship with Shelly Gehl in Viola, where they enjoyed each other's company, and he had a large yard that he loved to mow.

Jerry dedicated many years as a construction project manager at the University of Iowa, alongside serving as an electronics technician for the Iowa Hawkeye football team. Through his work, he created lasting friendships, particularly within the Iowa football community, which he held dear to his heart.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jerry embraced a passion for travel, often venturing to visit with loved ones in Texas, Arkansas, and various destinations across the nation. However, his greatest source of pride and joy lay in his family. Among his recent joys was the companionship of the Petersheim family from Edgewood, whom he held in high regard.

Jerry will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his significant other, Shelly Gehl, his sons, David of Anamosa, Adam (Tasha) of Central City, and Aaron (Maribel) of Fort Worth, Texas; his adored granddaughters, Savannah, Rachel, Arianna, Ellie, Skylar, and Olivia; his siblings, Ernie (Kerri) Rundall, Roger "Snoop" (Tammy) Rundall, both of Marion, and Madonna (Shawn) Arrington of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by his warmth and kindness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Dolly Rundall, his brother Dennis Rundall, and his sister Jeannie Rundall.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses and respiratory therapists at St. Luke's ICU, whose exceptional care provided comfort and support during Jerry's time of need.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Austin Strong Foundation ( https://austinstrong.org/ ), honoring Jerry's compassionate spirit and commitment to his community.

Jerry's memory will forever reside in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
