Gerald "Gary? K. Larson, 60, of 2385 12th Ave., Marion, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, with Cheryl Dickerson officiating. Friends may call Tuesday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at a later date.
Survivors include three brothers, Jack (Jeanette) Larson of Marion, Larry (Donna) Larson of Toddville and Richard (Marlyce) Larson of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Shirley Ann Larson and Russ Jaeger of Marion and Beverly (John) McGowan of Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law and good friend, George Klingler of Marion; two stepdaughters, Tami Vernon of Naples, Florida, and Nicole McComas of Waukee, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bette Klingler; and a brother-in-law, Vic Brockschink.
Gary was born on August 3, 1943, the son of Harland and Grace Burgess Larson in Cedar Rapids. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. Gary was employed at Midwest Metal Products as a machinist. He was a member of Marion American Legion Post 298. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.
