Georgina Mary Chalstrom (Sorenson)

Georgina Mary Chalstrom, 79, of 2015 8th Avenue in Marion, died Sunday, November 16, 2008, at her home, following a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Mike Morgan. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Survivors include her husband of over fifty-one years, Don; three sons, Mark (Angie) Chalstrom, Gary (Sherri) Chalstrom, and Edward (Lori) Chalstrom; a daughter, Linda Chalstrom; six grandchildren, Matt, Alyssa, Trevor, Danica, Katelynn, and Spencer, all of Marion; a special nephew, Bob (Helen) Wertz and families; a brother-in-law, Clayton (Pat) Chalstrom and families; and two lifetime friends, Frances Nielsen and Ann Munson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Carl Jr.; and her sister, Dorothy O’Dell.
Georgina was born November 9, 1929, the daughter of Carl and Mary Ann (Janish) Sorenson Sr. in Cedar Rapids. She married Don Chalstrom on March 30, 1957.
Georgina was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion.
