Genevieve was born on October 21, 1928, on the family farm in Sand Creek, Iowa, the daughter of Loren and Kathryn (Allyn) Barr. She graduated in 1946 from West Delaware High School in Manchester and from AIB in Des Moines, Iowa. Genevieve married Walter Croskey on October 24, 1947. The couple resided in Waterloo, Iowa, where her husband Walter established his building company. Upon retirement, they spent over 45 years making their home at Lake Delhi. She enjoyed history and kept excellent records of their family over the years, participated in Bridge Club with lifelong friends, traveled during the winter months, several of which were in Acapulco, and went on several cruises. Genevieve was an avid follower of the daily news and was extremely interested in politics and was a member of DAR, Mayflower Society, and PEO. Genevieve was truly kind and generous wife (which she took loving care of her husband until his death in 2020), mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Genevieve is survived by her three children, Kent of Carlisle, Iowa, Tim (Wangari), and Holly both of Manchester; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Kathryn Barr; husband of 72 years, Walter Croskey; and her brother, Allyn (Eleanor) Barr.

The family would like to thank all those who were instrumental in the care of their mother. The kindness and generosity that they showed their mother will never be forgotten.

Memorials in Genevieve memory may be directed to PEO, Chapter AS (Manchester).
