Gayle R. Roemig, 54, of 1207 6th Street N.W., Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Memorial Service: 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include three brothers, Gary Roemig of Champaign, Illinois, Glenn (Janet) Roemig of Shellsburg, Iowa, and John (Mary) Roemig of Cedar Rapids; and one sister, Gwen Roemig of Waterloo, Iowa; five nieces and nephews; four great nieces and nephews; and her long time friends, Cathy Hines and Liala Abboud. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alma; and her aunt, Helen Knight.
Gayle was born July 2, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of George and Alma (Hasek) Roemig. She worked in food preparation at the Breakfast House Restaurant in Cedar Rapids where she was considered the angel of the house.
She was a courageous and wonderful person who will be missed greatly.
