Gayle J. Graybill, 70, of Manchester died Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Manchester by Rev. Roger Henry. Family will greet friends from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, and 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., Thursday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Gayle was born November 26, 1938 in Richland Township in Delaware County, the daughter of Dewey and Norma (Rentschler) Harbaugh. She attended school in Dundee graduating in 1957. On June 9, 1957, Gayle was united in marriage to John H. Graybill at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. John and Gayle were owners of Graybill Plumbing & Heating in Manchester until 1984. The couple resided in Las Vegas, NV returning to Manchester in 1996. Gayle worked at Monona Wire and most recently at The Meadows in Manchester.
Gayle was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, yard work, games and cards. Gayle truly enjoyed her family and friends.
Gayle is survived by four children, Debbie (Dan) Ryan of Las Vegas, NV, Carey (Joyce) Graybill of Dubuque, Vicky (Kermit) Gunderson of Onalaska, WI, and Troy (Michelle) Graybill of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren, Neil Ryan, Kristin (Robert)¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬ Romero, Stacie Graybill, Colin Graybill, Jay Gunderson, Tyler Graybill, and Laura Graybill; one great-granddaughter, Chryshelle Ryan; a brother, Eugene (Joyce) Harbaugh and a sister, Beverly McQuillen both of Manchester; in-laws, Genieve Harbaugh, Jim (Pat) Graybill, and her very special friends, Marie and LeRoy Johnston of Manchester
Gayle was preceded in death by her husband, John in October 2008; her parents, Dewey and Norma Harbaugh; a grandson, Kirk Gunderson; siblings, Russell Harbaugh, Eileen (Maynard) Wendt; her mother and father-in-law, Herman and Laura Graybill, and a brother-in-law, LeRoy McQuillen.
