Gary A. Yanda, 59, of 4116 Lexington Drive N.E., died Friday morning, November 29, 2002, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2002, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Nick Longworth. Military rites will be performed. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; two daughters, Monica Yanda and Melissa Yanda, both of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving is a grandson, Dylan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Born January 12, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, to John and Libby Blazek Yanda, he married Donna Jean Shada on September 15, 1962. Gary worked in data processing for thirty-five years and worked for TLS, Inc., St. Luke?s Hospital and McLeod Publishing. He served with the U.S Army during Viet Nam and was a member of American Legion Hanford Post No. 5 and V.F.W. Post No. 788. Gary enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and sports. He also liked taking trips with his grandson.
