Watson on December 11, 1999, in Walker, Iowa. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the American Legion Post #264 in Urbana. Gary also enjoyed the outdoors and he had a passion for training and showing hunting dogs. One of his fondest accomplishments was being an instrumental part in securing the funding for the Frost Park soccer and baseball field expansion in Center Point.
