Also surviving are a sister, Karen (Carl) Seltrecht; a special friend, Mary Hynek; and many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary; and a sister, Rita Hendryx.

Gale was born January 24, 1935, the son of Albert and Lura Marie (Long) Fuessley in Troy Mills. Gale was a farmer, owned and operated Gales Super Market in Alburnett, the 30% Discount Store in Coggon and he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier retiring in 1998.

Gale had a passion for baseball. He enjoyed watching all baseball but his favorite team was the Cubbies, “they will torture him no more”. Some of his fondest memories were sponsoring “Fuessley’s First Addition” softball team for twenty years. A highlight was finishing fourth in State in 1993. He enjoyed the camaraderie with “his boys” on the team, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Gale’s memory.
