Frida A. Tyapkina, 89, of Marion, formerly of Moscow, Russia, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, conducted by Tom Fogle. Burial will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Frida is survived by her daughter, Irina (Alexander) Simonova; granddaughter, Katya (Joe) Allen; and three great-grandchildren, Pasha, Mikey, and Annika.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Lydia Petz.
Frida was born December 27, 1927, in Archangelsk, Russia, the daughter of Alexander and Edith (Petz) Petz. She was united in marriage to Konstantin Tyapkin in 1957 in Moscow, Russia. Frida was an English teacher and Principal at Boarding School #42 in Moscow, Russia, from 1957 when it opened until 2010.
