Fredrick L. Kitzman, 68, of Swisher, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at his home. Memorial visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. A celebration of life will be held from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014, at the Swisher American Legion Post #671.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Kitzman of Swisher; sons, Timothy (Ann) Kitzman and Terrence Kitzman all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brothers, Kenneth (Ilene) Kitzman of Swisher and Dallas “Skip” Kitzman of North Liberty; one granddaughter, Taylor; also surviving are his loving nieces and nephews; and his wiener dogs, Ginger and Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant sister, Carleen.
Fredrick was born on September 6, 1946, in Washington, Iowa, son of Dallas and Maxine (Chambers) Kitzman. He was in the first graduating class from Clear Creek Amana High School and recently attended his 50th class reunion. He served in the United States Navy from 1964-1970. On November 10, 1984, he married Carol Vanous, in Cedar Rapids. Fredrick was a proud member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #125. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a true outdoorsman.
