Freda Lucille Long (Kingery)

Freda L. Long, 78, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, November 22, 2013. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Brad Brown. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Steve) French of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law, Diane Long of Cedar Rapids; son-in-law, Dean Hanson of Eagle Grove; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Rosemary (Curt) Conner and Francis (Rita) Kingery both of Omaha; and sister-in-law, Edith Beck of Columbus, Ohio.
Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Del; and her children, Scott and Tonya.
Born July 5, 1935, in Mt. Etna, Iowa, Freda was the daughter of Albert and Helen (Richmond) Kingery. On September 20, 1953, Freda was united in marriage to Darwin “Del” Long in Corning, Iowa. He died on October 22, 2011. Freda worked at the Linn County Courthouse and Long’s Repair for many years.
Freda was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and Beta Sigma Phi.
