Fred W. Wade, 80, of 1360 B Ave., died July 7, 2005, following complications of Dementia, at Bickford Cottage where he had been a resident since March of 2005. Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church in Marion by Rev. Howard Chapman, Rev. Julie Anderson-Schuett and Rev. David Henion. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Private family burial will be at Cedar Memorial.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Naomi of Marion; three children, Juanita (Dan) Martinez of Red Oak, Iowa, and their children, Aubrey and Danielle, Randy (Sue) Wade of Parker, Colorado, and their children, Corinne, Tyler (Sacha) and Tanner, Sandy (Dave) Henion of Wichita, Kansas, and their children Joshua, Jordan and Jessica; a sister, Maude Hillyer of Knoxville; a brother, Clarence (Sue) Wade of Geneseo, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, George, Elmer, Gerald and Raymond Wade; and a sister, Mildred Miller.

Fred was born October 18, 1924, the son of John and Grace (Randolph) Wade in Keokuk County. He graduated from Keota High School in 1942. He then attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant. Fred served as a Master Sergeant with the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. On February 5, 1949, he married Naomi Sheetz in Mt. Pleasant.

Fred served the Marion banking community including thirty years at First National Bank and five years at Guaranty Bank and Trust, retiring in 1989. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Marion for forty-eight years where he had served as an Elder. He was also a member of the Marion Evening Kiwanis Club for forty years where he had served as Lieutenant Governor of the Iowa/Nebraska District. Fred served as secretary of the Marion Independent school board for many years and American Cancer Society Board of Directors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Fred?s memory to First Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Mercy.
