Fred E. Leach
March 20, 1916 — January 9, 2005
Fred E. Leach, 88, of 425 22nd Street N.E., died Sunday, January 9, 2005, at St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following complications of heart surgery. There will be no services. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Gary (Dolores) Leach of Cedar Rapids and Nancy (Stephen) Ochiltree of Marion; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; one stepgreat-grandchild; and a brother, Elmer (Lucille) Leach of Blair, Nebraska.
Fred was born March 20, 1916, the son of Range and Lena Kessler Leach, in Gage County, Nebraska. On September 19, 1936, he was united in marriage to Mary Vosdingh in Cedar Rapids. She died February 18, 2003. Fred farmed in the Linn County area and for over 20 years worked at the Cedar Rapids Community Schools System, retiring from the Food Service Department.
Memorials may be made to Toys for Tots in care of the Cedar Rapids Jaycees or St. Luke?s Hospice in memory of Fred.
