Franklin James Santee, 31, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Mark Forstrom of New Covenant Bible Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 23 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: 16 Cemetery, What Cheer, Iowa.
Survivors include his daughter, Kaya and her mother, Phaedra of Phoenix, Arizona; his sister, Joey of Cedar Rapids; his parents, Les and Diane Santee of Swisher; his grandmother, Leona Hoyka of West Des Moines; one niece, Alexis Peterson; his cousins; his aunts and uncles; Bear Williams and Al Devires, who were like brothers; and his girlfriend, Sunshine Martin.
Frank graduated from Prairie High School in 1991, where he competed in football, basketball and track. He attended Iowa State University and Massage Therapy College in Flagstaff, Arizona. Frank lived in Phoenix for the past nine years where he was employed at Verizon. He enjoyed the outdoors, loved to ride his motorcycle, shoot pool, target shoot, sky dive and manipulating his sister. Frank loved to talk and then talk some more.
He adored his daughter, Kaya and all of the activities they did together. Challenging his daughter to learn new things was one of his greatest pleasures. Frank loved adventure and was a counselor/confidant to his friends. He was a great father, brother and son. His piercing blue eyes, contagious laugh and giving heart will be sorely missed.
