Frank C. Waldron, Jr. 95, of the Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died there Monday, May 12, 2008, following a sudden illness. Private Graveside Service at a later date. Burial: Center Point Cemetery. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Charles (Suzanne) Waldron of Kitchener Ontario, Canada, David (Veronique) Waldron of Boise, Idaho and Joanne (Denny) Mauck of Swisher, Iowa; grandchildren, Tammy, Dustin, Teresa, Christine and David “D.J.”,; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Betty Neighbor.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna; granddaughter, Linda; brother, Russell Waldron; and sister, Rosemond Hersom.
Frank was born June 1, 1912, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Frank and Jessie (Cramer) Waldron. On March 5, 1936, in Center Point, he was united in marriage to Edna Neighbor. He owned and operated Davis Cleaners and Tuxedo Rental.
Frank was a musician and played in several bands, the first one being Frankie and the Kansas City Cyclones and the last The Doodlers. Frank was a pilot and he loved to fish. He loved his dog Buster.
