Frank J. Torrens, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Meth-Wick Community, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Helen of Cedar Rapids; his children; Terrill, Ted, Jon, Jeff, Shelly, Debra, Scott, and Kristin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jean.
Frank was born May 14, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Frank J. Sr. and Mildred (Johnson) Torrens. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Frank was the past President and CEO of Cherry Burrell, now known as Evergreen Packaging. He was also the former CEO of Elopak in Michigan. Frank was active with SCORE, where he served in several executive positions.
