Frances M. Stebbins
July 15, 1917 — February 21, 2006
Frances M. Stebbins, 88, of 4285 Westchester Drive NE, Cedar Rapids, died in her home Tuesday, February 21, 2006, after a brief illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m.. Friday, February 24, 2006, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 - 6 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 23) at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, where a Vigil service will begin at 6 p.m.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; her children, Jerry (Dee) Stebbins of Davenport, Tom (Carla) Stebbins of Des Moines, Dixie Stebbins of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Beth Carter of Clark, South Dakota, Peggy (Todd) Siefert of Des Moines and Lori (Mark) Nauholz of Cedar Rapids; ten grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha and Kyle Siefert, Cassie, Kallie and Coley Nauholz, and Brittany, Dana, Joey and Hannah Stebbins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Susie Stebbins; four sisters; and five brothers.
Frances was born July 15, 1917, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Zieser in Walker, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Richard Stebbins in April 1950 in Cedar Rapids. Frances was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Frances was an accomplished seamstress. She loved flowers, especially African violets. Frances also loved her grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
