Frances L. Mangold, 93, of Coggon, died December 21, 2012, at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Pastor Jen Filter. Visitation will be from 12 – 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Oakland Cemetery in Manchester.

Survivors include three nephews, David (Diane) Knott of Ryan, Kent Carrothers of Coggon, Bruce (Jill) Carrothers of Cambridge; nieces-in-law, Sue Knott of Independence and Judy Knott of Iowa City; great nephews and nieces, Catherine (Brad) Walz of Marion, Matthew (Meghan) Knott of Marietta, Georgia, Trevor Knott of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Wesley Knott of Altoona, Matt (Debbie) Carrothers of Roswell, Georgia, T.J. (Dawn) Carrothers of Ryan, Kay Knott of Iowa City, Justin and Adam Carrothers of Cambridge; great-great-nephews and nieces, Ethan, Eleanor, and Elizabeth Walz of Marion, Logan and Kennedy Knott of Marietta, Georgia, Lauren Knott of Iowa City, Jack and Cash Carrothers of Ryan, and Parker, Connor and Grace Carrothers of Roswell, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Arlene Knott and Hazel Carrothers; two nephews, Gregory Knott and Bruce Knott.

Frances was born September 13, 1919, the son of Arthur and Etta (Bakker) Mangold in Manchester. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1936. She cared for her father in Coggon for many years and also worked for Dr. Hunter in Coggon.

She was a member of United Parish and bridge clubs in Coggon. She was an avid golfer. She was a loving and caring aunt who took an active interest in her family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading the newspaper.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
