Frances F. "Penny? Hutchison, 89, of 149 West Broadway, died Friday, October 22, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, following a sudden illness. Memorial Services: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witnesses, 7121 Mt. Vernon Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids, officiated by Ted Nunemaker, Jr. The family will greet friends prior to the service, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her son, Malverne (Sharon) Hutchison of Omaha; a brother, Karl Fruetel of Wahpeton, North Dakota; a sister, Isabelle Fox of Wahpeton, North Dakota; fifteen grandchildren, including, Kandi (Jack) Entringer of Cedar Rapids, Travis Hutchison of Las Vegas, Nevada, Heidi (Daryl) Gucwa of New York, Justin Hutchison of Kansas City, Missouri, Ed (Sherry) Betzer of Central City, Dennis (Gina) Betzer of Central City, Jonn (Terri) Betzer of Central City, Craig (Sheila) Betzer of Atkins, Darrell (Jennifer) Betzer of Central City, Christopher (Carol) Betzer of Central City and Doug Betzer of Central City; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son Kenton Hutchison; a daughter, Deanna Betzer; two brothers, Bob and Dean Fruetel; and a sister, Marcy.
Penny was born January 30, 1915, the daughter of Herman and Frances (Schneider) Fruetel, in Everdall, Minnesota. On March 15, 1933, she married Cecil Maynard Hutchison in St. Paul, Minnesota. He died in November of 1943. Penny was baptized in June of 1953 in New York City as one of Jehovah?s Witnesses. She worked at Wilson?s Meats for thirty-three years, retiring in 1977. Penny was known for her instant smile and will be greatly missed.
A memorial fund has been established in Penny?s memory.
