Frances E. Hollingsworth

Frances E. Hollingsworth, 86, a resident of Winslow House Care Center, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from complications of diabetes. The family will greet friends Thursday, February 19, 2004, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion. A private service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2004, at the funeral home by the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Randy Hollingsworth and wife Cheryl of Marion and their children, Meredith Hollingsworth of Mission, Kansas and Gregory Hollingsworth of Iowa City; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Drost of Hempstead, New York.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband "Tex? who died March 31, 1993.
Frances was born the daughter of Ernest and Grace (Bidwell) Randall on November 6, 1917, in Ridge, New York. She attended Adelphi College in New York. She was united in marriage to Walker E. "Tex? Hollingsworth on January 21, 1939, at Hempstead, New York. Frances worked for Sperry Corporation during World War II.
Frances enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, especially traveling around the state of Iowa.
A memorial fund has been established in Frances? memory to the American Diabetes Association of Iowa, 1073 Rockford Road S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52404.
