Frances L. Duskin, 74, of rural Center Point, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday morning, April 3, 2017, following a four year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Service: 1:00 pm. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial: at a later date, Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa.
Frances Louise Seibert was born February 12, 1943, in Davenport, the daughter of Elmer and Nellie (Gilbert) Seibert. She graduated in 1961 from Bettendorf High School and was married to Larry D. Duskin on May 11, 1963, in Princeton, Missouri. She earned her B.A. in Accounting from Mount Mercy College in 1993. Fran retired after 32 years with Cedar Rapids Lumber Co. in 2008 and then spent two years with the U.S. Census Bureau.
In addition to spending time with her family, Fran’s interests included painting, sewing, genealogy and playing cards and board games. She was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeye football, basketball and wrestling and NASCAR Cup racing.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Duskin; son, Jeffrey of Center Point; daughter, Dawn Duskin (Leonard Durham) of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Donna Klundt of Rock Island, Illinois and Sharon (Sam) DeMeyer of Milan, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Caring Voice Coalition, Mount Mercy University or Iowa Public Television.
