Forrest “Kent” Lofton, 66, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away with his wife at his side Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee after a short and courageous battle with Leukemia. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11th at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home in Marion. Burial immediately following the service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Kent was born January 17, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of the late Forrest Dale and Verna (Dahlgren) Lofton. Kent received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Northern Iowa. On June 18, 1977 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa he married Lillian Helbig. Kent and Lillian made Marion, Iowa their home for over 23 years, moving to Pleasant Prairie in 2004. He has been employed by Bombadier Motors Corp. in Sturtevant for the last 10 years. He loved boating and cars.
Surviving are his loving wife Lillian; a sister Kay (Jim) DeLong of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Lewis (Karlene) Helbig of Marion, Iowa.
