Forrest William Ainsworth, 85, a resident of Silver Pines Assisted Living Community, died Thursday, August 7, 2003, following a long illness. Services: 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 11, 2003, at Christ Church Presbyterian, Cedar Rapids, by Dr. William Jamison. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, August 10, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Doralee; his daughters, Mary Remington (Jon) of Cedar Rapids and Shirley Fisher (Edgar) of McAllister, Montana; his grandchildren, Lori Florence and Lisa Florence of Cedar Rapids, Scot Remington of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Rebecca Campbell (Randy) of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Marion Ainsworth of Oceanside, California; a step-granddaughter, Brittany Campbell of Cedar Rapids and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Forrest was born June 10, 1918, in Tama, Iowa, the son of Albert and Martha (Wetzel) Ainsworth. He served in the Air Force in WWII as a Staff Sergeant and was a member of the 305 Bomb Group Association. On October 15, 1939, he married Doralee Struchen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Forrest was a Charter Member of Christ Church

Presbyterian and served as an ordained elder and choir member for 30 years. He was an accountant for 36 years before retiring in 1982 from Iowa Electric Light & Power Company.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Church Presbyterian or the Alzheimer?s Association.
