Floyd was born to John and Pearl Durow on August 17, 1921, in Center Point, Iowa. He graduated from Center Point High School in 1939. That same year, he married Bernice King of Urbana. The lived and worked the Durow Century Farm near Center Point for over 64 years. He was an active member of the Center Point United Methodist Church, and was always willing to volunteer wherever he was needed. In addition to farming, he also worked at Iowa Manufacturing (Cedar Rapids, Inc.) for nearly 30 years, retiring in 1982.
Floyd enjoyed riding his ATV around the farm and keeping his lawn pristine with his riding mower. He was a devoted husband, a great father, and a proud provider; a good example to all of the family on how to be a good worker, positive role model, and how to live a good, clean, Christian life. Floyd was greatly loved by his many grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the Center Point United Methodist Church in Floyd’s memory.
