Florence Marguerite Needham, 97, of 546 Forest Dr SE, died Monday, December 30, 2002, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Graveside Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2003, Oak View Cemetery, Albia, Iowa. Friends may call from 6-7, Thursday, January 2, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Survivors include a sister, Lucille Mick, of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law, Mary Needham of Bartow, Florida; 2 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 14 nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver, Ruth Mick.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo in 1974; her son Paul in 2000; a grandson; eight brothers and sisters; and her parents.
Florence was born September 18, 1905, in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Seth Freed and Augusta (Lind) Freed. She attended Penn Business College in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and married Leo Needham, May 29, 1928. They made their home in Boone, Iowa, for many years until 1995, when she moved to Cedar Rapids to live with her sister, Lucille.
