Florence Foust, 88, of Manchester, died Sunday morning, February 20, 2005 at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester following a sudden illness.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Manchester, with Rev. Msgr. Ralph Simington officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester with prayers at 4:30 p.m. Friends may also call after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Catherine?s Catholic Cemetery, St. Catherine, Iowa.
Florence was born the daughter of John P. and Clara (Tritz) Kemp on December 28, 1916 at St. Donatus, Iowa. She attended school at St. Donatus. On October 11, 1939, Florence married John Foust at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Key West, Iowa. She moved to Manchester in 1947.
Florence was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church where she served as chairlady of the Rosary Society. She volunteered with the Delaware County Hospital Auxiliary and the Red Cross Blood Bank. Florence enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to play bingo and visit with her friends at the Senior Center. Florence was an excellent seamstress. She made her family?s clothing and gowns for her granddaughters.
Florence is survived by her children, Ronald (Margaret) Foust of Atlanta, GA, Gerald (Janet) Foust of Watertown, WI, Richard (Dianne) Foust of Manchester, Mary Jean (Dwayne) Uptegraph of Dubuque, Judy (Dennis) Gudenkauf of Manchester and Robert (Mary) Foust of Strawberry Point; nineteen grandchildren; and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, John & Clara (Tritz) Kemp; a daughter-in-law, Diana Foust; three brothers, Al, Larry and Joe Kemp; and a sister, Leona Errthum.
