Florence Morrissey (Ashby)

Florence Morrissey, 93, a resident of West Village Care Center in Independence, formerly of Coggon, died Sunday, January 27, at the care center. Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Rev. Jonna Jensen. Visitation will be from 4-7 Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Coggon.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Morrissey of San Francisco, California and Steve (Deb) Morrissey of Coggon; two grandchildren, Renee (Jeremy) McKee of Walker and Jamie Morrissey of Coggon; one great-granddaughter, Jillian McKee; and one great-grandson, Justin McKee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother.
Florence was born January 22, 1915, the daughter of Henry and Pearl (DeWoody) Ashby in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. She married Francis “Frank” Morrissey on February 27, 1935, in Coggon. He died February 6, 2000.
