Fern M. Wilson, 92, of Shellsburg, Iowa, formerly of Marion, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Rev. The family will greet friends from 4 ?" 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Florence (Keith) Chesmore of Mission, Texas, Judith Aller of Magnolia, Texas, David (Jann) Wilson of Walker, Iowa, and Luanne (Lee) Meader of Marion; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; 2 brothers, William and Raymond Krueger; 3 sisters, Helen Beier, Lila Anderson, and Florence Krueger; a son-in-law, Jim Aller, and 1 great grandchild, Tobias.
Fern was born March 6, 1917, the daughter of John W. and Florence (Reichelderfer) Krueger, in Buchanan County, Iowa. She married Elmer Wilson on December 14, 1935, in Waterloo, Iowa. He died March 17, 1999. Fern was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Marion.
