Everette G. Alderman, 90, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Visitation: 9 – 11 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2021, at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Everette was born October 9, 1931, in Volga, South Dakota, the son of Gerald and Elna (Eklund) Alderman. After high school he served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On December 11, 1955, Everette was united in marriage to Mary DeJong in Castlewood, South Dakota. He worked for Johnson Gas from 1957 until his retirement in 1993.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Alderman of Cedar Rapids; children, Rose (Carey) Frahm of Olin, Iowa, Michael Alderman of Cedar Rapids, Douglas Alderman of Texas, and Peggy (Jim) Stepanek of Delhi, Iowa; grandchildren, Hailey and Lauren Stepanek and Tiffany (Jeremy) Wink; great-grandchildren, Taylor (Sean) Poduska and Braden Wink; great-great-grandchild, Gracie Poduska; siblings, Leland (Adelpha) Reppe, JoAnne Bell, and Sharon Burkhalter.
Everette was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, John Alderman, Betty Reppe, and Jimmy Alderman.
