Evelyn B. Mikulecky, 83, a resident of Silver Pines, died Sunday, December 28, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2003, by Rev. William Harnish, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2003, at the funeral home. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her daughters, Karen (Keith) Millard of Swisher, Darla (Dave) Duros of Pueblo, Colorado; Elaine (Charles) Thompson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Sharf, Vernita Stejskal and Marilyn Jandik all of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Mikulecky; her parents, John and Blanche Lnenicka; and a sister, Delores Ralston.

Evelyn was born on February 16, 1920, the daughter of John and Blanche (Suchomel) Lnenicka in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On September 16, 1940, she was united in marriage to Bill Mikulecky in Bertram, Iowa. She loved gardening, dancing, playing cards and baking kolaches. Evelyn donated her kolaches for many family and church events. When her husband Bill was alive, they attended many dances by Kenny Hofer and Leonard Reyman. She was a member of Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She gave her time and talents to many friends and neighbors. She will be greatly missed.
