Evelyn Mills Merchant, 94, a resident of the Woodlands, at Meth-Wick Manor, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died there Saturday, October 13, 2007. Memorial Services: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dr. Frank Seydel. Visitation: 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Inurnment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Evelyn was born on April 8, 1913, in Greenville, Iowa, the daughter of George and Ella (Hart) Mills. She married Harry “Bud” Merchant on June 7, 1937, in Tama, Iowa. Evelyn was retired from the Department of Defense, Insmat Division. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.
Evelyn is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; her parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
