Evelyn W. (Sargent) Franck, 81, of Central City, died Thursday, June 2, 2005, at her home, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Rev. Nick Needham. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Graveside Services: 3 p.m. Monday at Strawberry Point Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Keith Roberts of Independence, Linda (Jerry) Harford of Anamosa, Dean (Penny) Franck of Marion, Chuck (Connie) Franck of Destrehan, Loiusiana, Bobbi Jo (Gary) Port of Cedar Rapids, Kevin (Brenda) Franck of Cedar Rapids, Doreen (Dave) Harford of Central City, Roger (Darlene) Franck of Cedar Rapids, Donnette (Norman) Ratliff of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Russ (Nancy) Franck of Cedar Rapids and Mike Franck of Central City; a sister, Vione Brooks of Strawberry Point; and a special family friend, Wanda Kramer.
Also surviving are thirty-three grandchildren and fifty-five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a son, Marty; a grandson, Brian; a great-grandson, Benjamin; a son-in-law, Bob Knight; four brothers; and five sisters.
Evelyn was born June 5, 1923, the daughter of Harford G. and Nellie B. (Jewett) Sargent in Clayton County. She graduated from Strawberry Point High School in 1941. On July 12, 1946, she married Donald Franck in Manchester. He died December 28, 2002.
Evelyn loved ceramics, reading, puzzles and crocheting. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
