Evelyn Mae Crisman, 88, of Central City, died Thursday, September 6, 2007, at her son’s home near Shueyville. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Central City by Rev. Nick Needham. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include her son, David (Carol) Crisman; grandchildren, Sara (Chris) Shockey of Freeport, Illinois and Alison Crisman of Rockford, Illinois; step-grandchildren, Mike (Lori) Goins of Nichols and Jennifer Shiek of Ankeny; great-grandchildren, Payton, Carter, and Maddux Shockey; step-great-grandchildren, Ally Goins, Jackson Shiek, and Josh O’Connor; a sister, Berniece Kamper of Hurst, Texas; and special nieces, Beverly Houston and Bonnitta Johnston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Judith Ann Crisman; two sisters, Ethel Bower and LaVonne Berhow; and a brother, Allen Wheeler.
Evelyn was born May 5, 1919, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Hopkins) Wheeler in Bagley. On February 12, 1939, she married M.C. “Boots” Crisman. He died August 28, 1995.
Evelyn was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was and avid golfer and card player.
