Evelyn A. Bills, 95, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Marion, died Friday, May 20, 2005, at Cottage Grove Place. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Robert Nelson. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include two sons, William "Bill? F. Bills and wife Mary Jo of Cedar Rapids and Earl Bills of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, William D. Bills and wife Debbie, Pamela Jo Kaufman and husband Gary and Michael F. Bills and wife Sandy; and seven great-grandchildren, Megan and David Bills, Haley and Kelsey Bills and Zach, Jake and Sarah Kaufman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wendell; a brother, Raymond Eckhart; and a sister, Alice Lint.
Evelyn was born October 8, 1909, the daughter of Earl F. and Mary A. (Bushnell) Eckhart in Arlington. On March 14, 1929, she married Wendell W. Bills in Marion. He died October 15, 1984. Evelyn worked in the family business for thirty-two years with her husband, sons and grandchildren at Bills? Bros. Furniture. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Marion.
