Eugene "Geo? Kruser, 75, of 2100 Haven Court S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, in Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at St. Ludmila?s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Thomas McDermott. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 9, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a vigil service at 6 p.m., and Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial: St. John?s Cemetery with military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; daughter, Julie (Pat) Fowler of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Tim (Jackie) Kruser of Cedar Rapids and Patrick (Jean) Kruser of Lee Summit, Missouri; four grandsons, Daniel, Steven, Brian and Dawson Kruser; one brother, Jim (Alice) Kruser of Dickeyville, Wisconsin; and two sisters, Patricia Kruser of Kieler, Wisconsin and Rita Kruser of Kieler, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Freda; and his sister, Ruth.
Eugene was born May 20, 1931, in Grant County, Wisconsin, the son of Albert "Fritz? and Freda (Loeffelholz) Kruser. He served in the U.S. Army. On May 18, 1957, he married Margaret Schroeder in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dubuque. He was a block and brick salesman for over 40 years retiring in 1994.
Eugene was a member of St. Ludmila?s Catholic Church and the American Legion Hanford Post #5.
Memorials may be made in Eugene?s memory to St. Luke?s Hospice, 1026 A Avenue N.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402.
