Esther M. Wojno, 91, of 1838 Briarcliff Lane, Solon, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Josaphat R.C. Church, in Bayside, New York on February 8, 2012. Burial: Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Flushing, New York. Local arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Mary Ann (William) Ahrens of Chester, Maryland and Richard (Geraldine) Wojno of Solon, Iowa; four grandchildren, William (Christine) Doonan, Christopher (Chandra) Wojno, Veronica (Mike Sagginario) Wojno and Victoria Wojno; two great grandchildren, Gunnar Wojno and Dominic Wojno; two brothers, William (Lois) Ellis of Pompano Beach, Florida and Daniel (Marie) Ellis of Del Ray, Florida; brother-in-law, Terry (Teresa) Wojno; and sisters-in-law, Felicia Wojno and Agnes Wojno.
Born September 8, 1920, in Bayside, New York, Esther was the daughter of Earl and Sophie (Wrona) Ellis. In August of 1945, she married Thaddeus Wojno in Bayside, New York. She worked as an administrative clerk in the insurance industry for 50 years.
