Esther M. Knight, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 29, 2009, in her home, following a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Ron; three children, Ace (Jonell) Moore of Monmouth, Misty (Jim) Mantor of Des Moines and Chuck (Sue) Easterday of Cedar Rapids; two stepchildren, Randy Knight of Marion and Robyne (Don) Bartlett of Anamosa; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Terrance Easterday; a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Easterday; and a brother, Charles Klein.
Esther was born January 27, 1940, the daughter of Truman and Edith (Ward) Klein, in Iowa City, Iowa. On October 15, 1977, she married Ronald Knight in Vinton, Iowa. For 23 years, Esther worked for Linn County Home Care, retiring in 2002.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy in memory of Esther.
