Esther L. Hansen
August 28, 1905 — February 19, 2003
Esther L. Hansen, 97, a resident of Hiawatha Care Center, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center, following a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Del Bear. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Graveside services: 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Cemetery in Northwood, Iowa.
Survivors include two sons, Max Hansen and wife Bonnie of Marion and Bill Hansen and wife Donnis of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Doris Bentele of Hibbing, Minnesota and Arlene Saniter and husband Lawrence of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; and a brother.
Esther was born August 28, 1905, the daughter of John J. and Ellen L. (Rider) John in Fairmont, Minnesota. On May 16, 1927, she married Harold E. Hansen. He passed away in 1994.
