Esther Irene Falconer, 84, of Ryan died November 28, 2004 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester following a long illness.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1 at the Zion Presbyterian Church in Coggon by Rev. Diane Bishop. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home in Manchester and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Coggon Cemetery.
Esther was born the daughter of William and Ann (Harms) Lubben on April 26, 1920 in Monticello. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1939 then earned her teaching certificate from Coe College. On December 21, 1942 Esther was united in marriage to Dale Falconer in Kirksville, Missouri. She taught country school near Monticello during the early years of their marriage. The couple farmed near Ryan. Esther also worked at Collins Radio for many years.
Esther was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church in Coggon where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Esther is survived by three daughters, Janet Woods of Ryan, Jeanne (Steve) Hostert of Urbana and Sharon (Robert) Manson of Manchester; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Hudak of Trumbell, CT, Arlene Griffith of Cedar Rapids and Shirley Schneiter of Monticello; and one brother, Robert Lubben of Monticello.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale Falconer on March 10, 1988; a brother, Irvin Lubben; and son-in-law, Jim Woods.
