Esther Bagley, 96, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, formerly of the Center Point and Brandon areas, died Friday, January 17, 2003, at the care center, following a short illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. John Caughron. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2003, at the funeral home. Burial: Brandon Cemetery, Brandon.
Survivors include two sons, Richard "Dick? (Betty) Bagley and Laverne "Vern? (Ann) Bagley, all of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland; a daughter, Rosalene; a son, Lyle; a grandchild; four brothers; and three sisters.
Esther was born August 19, 1906, the daughter of George and Rosa (Ribble) Short, in Brandon, Iowa. On June 4, 1930, she was united in marriage to Leland Bagley. He died in 1987. She was a member of the Christian Church in Center Point. Esther was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
