Ervin “Junior” Price, 87, of Central City, died Monday, March 3, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Alice Church, Center Point. The family will greet family and friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial: Alice Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; children, Roger (Connie) Price of Tulsa, OK, Cindy (Ed) Roalf of Marion, Pam (Jeff) Morris of Wesley, IA, and Brad (Bev) Price of Alburnett; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles; and siblings, Willo Kula, Clyde Price, Merle Price, Ernest Price, Kate Fitzsimmons, and Arvena Cook.
Junior was born September 2, 1926, in Troy Mills, the son of Ervin and Nellie (Potter) Price. He graduated from Coggon High School in 1945, and married Eleanor Henderson on January 27, 1946. This year, Junior and Eleanor celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Junior was a lifelong farmer, working with the Linn Coop and also with the Farmers Elevator in Alburnett for about 10 years. He was a 4-H Leader for many years, a member of Alice Church in Center Point, and a member of the North Linn Saddle Club, the Iowa Quarter Horse Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association. Junior loved his family dearly, and had a lifelong love for horses.
