Erma Hogue

Erma Hogue, 81, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A private family service is being planned for a later date in Tupelo, Oklahoma. Burial will take place at Byrds Prairie Cemetery in Tupelo.
Erma was born on September 12, 1939, in Durango, Colorado, the daughter of Willis and Eva (Palmer) Boyd. She graduated from Max Schott High School in Colorado. On June 1, 1957, Erma was united in marriage to Roy Leon Hogue in Cedar Ridge, Colorado. To this union, two children were born, Andrea and Andrew. Erma enjoyed tole painting, playing guitar and piano, reading, and politics. She was a quilting and sewing perfectionist and fantastic cook. Erma was independent, honest and hardworking. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Erma is survived and lovingly remembered by her two children, Andrea Began and Andrew Hogue both of Marion; three grandchildren, Joshua, Jasmine, and Nathan; one great-grandchild, Casey Rae; two brothers, Willis (Christine) Boyd and Gilbert (Margie) Boyd; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Eva Boyd; husband, Roy Hogue; and three siblings, Bob, Gladys, and Barbara.
