Erma Glenna Busenbark (Street)
June 26, 1915 — January 22, 2007
Erma Busenbark, 91, a lifelong resident of Center Point and most recently of the Keystone Cedars, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Monday, January 22, 2007, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point, by the Rev. John Caughron and Rev. Mike Ellson. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Thomas (Wilma) Busenbark of Shellsburg; daughter, Susan (Roy) Cole of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one step granddaughter; and five step great grandchildren. Also surviving is a half brother, Hayward Brody of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; two nephews; three nieces; and her grand dog, Katie.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a sister, Norma Whitenack; two half brothers; a half sister; and a step granddaughter.
Erma was born June 26, 1915, in Center Point, Iowa, the daughter of Issac and Lillian (Myers) Street. A lifelong resident of Center Point, she graduated from Center Point High School and on August 11, 1940, was united in marriage to John Busenbark in the United Methodist Church in Center Point. John died August 13, 2003. Erma worked for 20 years as an assistant for Dr. Andersen and worked at Peoples Bank.
Erma was the oldest member of the Center Point United Methodist Church, Past Matron of the Eastern Star, and a lifelong member of the Center Point Garden Club. She and her husband enjoyed fishing in Minnesota and on the Mississippi. She liked to travel and enjoyed her Center Point friends.
She loved her family and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
The care at Keystone Cedars was deeply appreciated by the family.
