Eric David Karsten

Eric David Karsten, 24, of 7802 Pintail Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Joseph Polzin. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Shueyville Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, David and Kay Karsten of Solon; a sister, Emily Karsten of Solon; his grandparents, Kenneth and LaVonne Karsten of Marengo and Dorothy Leichsenring of Cedar Rapids; and his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene Leichsenring.
Eric was born December 31, 1980, the son of David and Kay Leichsenring Karsten, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A graduate from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, he worked for Goodwill Industries. Eric enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics and loved to go hunting with his dad and friends. He also enjoyed the Friendship Club Ministries and liked to watch movies. Eric was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church.
