Emma Jane Frisch, 87, of 402 5th Street, Springville, died Sunday, February 5, 2006, in her daughter?s home after a long illness. A private family service was held at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Visitations will be accepted at the home of her daughter, Carol, at 308 North Ave., Springville.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol and Danielle Frisch, and two grandchildren, Aaron and Alysha Dirks, all of Springville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Fredrick; her husband, Charles; and her brother, William Dripps.

Emma Jane was born the daughter of Edith Marie and Howard William Dripps on November 8, 1918, in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated with a bachelor?s degree from the University of Toledo. Her career included being a school teacher and a theater actress and having a children?s television show titled "Our Story Book? in Michigan.

Emma Jane was united in marriage to Charles Walter Frisch on February 23, 1951. While accommodating her husband?s career, she had the opportunity to live in California, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, New York and Iowa. As she raised her children, she was very focused on their development and well being and nurtured them to grow up to be strong, independent and compassionate citizens. She was also very active in Girl Scouts, was a substitute teacher and worked for General Nutrition Center for twelve years to help finance her children?s higher education. Emma Jane was always a patron of the local libraries and she loved to read in her spare time.

A memorial fund will be established in honor of Emma Jane for the Springville Memorial Library.
