Emil Francis Bisinger, Jr., 82, of Walker, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016, after a short illness. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2016, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2016, at the funeral home.
Emil is survived by his sons, Eric (Mary) Bisinger, and their children, Steffanie and Zackary, and Brad (fiancée, Sherry Sackett) Bisinger; brother, Robert (Jean) Bisinger; sister, Harriett Jean Strait; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, in 1954; mother, in 1999; and by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Emil was born November 8, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Emil Francis Bisinger and Lucille Bisinger Olsen. In 1952, he graduated from McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids. Emil joined the Air Force in November of 1952, and was honorably discharged in November of 1956. He then attended the University of Iowa. Emil was an electrician by trade and a member of the IBEW Local 405 for 55 years. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #298 of Marion. Emil was an avid fisherman and hunter in his spare time.
