Elwood worked for Rockwell Collins for 35 years. He was a member of American Legion Post #298 and a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Elwood liked to work with his hands. He could build or fix anything. For many years, woodworking was his passion. Many family and friends were recipients of furniture built by him. In later years, Elwood found an interest in tractors, specifically the Massey-Harris models owned by his father. With the help of friends, Elwood completed his first tractor and they were in the process of completing his second tractor when he became ill.
A memorial fund has been established in Elwood’s memory.
