Elva B. Davis (Williams)
January 23, 1913 — January 18, 2007
Elva B. Davis, 93, a resident of Linn Manor Care Center in Marion, died there Thursday, January 18, 2007, after a long illness. Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2007, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dr. Robert Kunz. The family will greet friends at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include a son, Miles (Ruth) Hess of Anamosa; two grandchildren, Mark (Debra) Hess of Cedar Rapids and Michael (Julie) Hess of Faribault, Minnesota; four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis Davis; four brothers, Arnold, Floyd, Lee and Lamar Williams; and two sisters, Adella and Grace.
Elva was born January 23, 1913, in Springdale, Arkansas, to Fred and Cora (Gardener) Williams. She married Miles G. Hess and they later divorced. Elva then married Francis A. Davis on June 28, 1949, in Rock Island, Illinois. Francis died November 13, 1977. Elva was a member of Marion Christian Church.
Memorials may be given to Camp Courageous in memory of Elva.
