Elsie A. Sherbon, 82, a longtime resident of Walker, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at the Crestview Care Center, Marion, following a lengthy illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker, by Father Gabriel Anderson. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Walker.
She is survived by two children, Margaret Sauer and husband Edwin of Shellsburg, and Shirley Sauer and husband Don of Walker; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and a brother, Frank Chrisman of St. Elizabeth, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; her parents; an infant son, Francis Jr.; and three sisters, Gladys Edaburn, Mildred Lohf and Ruby Chrisman; two brothers, Clifford Chrisman and John Chrisman.
Elsie was born April 14, 1922, the daughter of John and Nancy E. (Matheny) Chrisman, in Lafayette, Iowa. On July 3, 1947, she married Francis J. Sherbon. He passed away on December 29, 1986. Elsie enjoyed being a homemaker and gardening.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Elsie.
